Nobody can love a country merely because of the beauty of the nation or the wealth in it. Man is inspired to make sacrifices only when he has love for that which he is defending. Only when we come to appreciate the heart of a nation, which is its culture and its genius, then and then alone love can be discovered.
Thereafter, they (youth) would feel inspired to readily sacrifice for building up the Nation. Discipline, team spirit, the ability to sink minor differences and to rise into a united force to defeat the forces of disintegration and poverty – all these can readily manifest only in the bosom of a generation which is proud of its past.
The present has been created by the past, and the future will come out of the present. Unless the youth of today are vigilant, dynamic, and smart, the Nation and with it, the future will sink.
Youth have idlers and escapists, mere dreamers. They must driven to work and heat them up to thaw the tamas in them that has frozen their hearts real hard and solid. Youth – determined to reach their goal, sure of their dignity, consistent in their endeavours, proud of their cultural background – can alone bestow upon a growing country the status of a Nation. The present generation does not know the wondrous efforts that have been put in by their forefathers to make this country politically free. You have enjoyed thorough freedom. “I shall enjoy the life“. . . .
